1780-Before 1841

Second Generation: Martha Warner < William Warner

Martha was the daughter of William Warner and Elizabeth White. She was born in Howden, Yorkshire on January 16, 1780 and baptized on February 20, 1780.1 She married Miles Norton in Stillingfleet, Yorkshire on November 25, 1806.2

They had at least five children, all girls, as far as we know:

  1. Elizabeth Norton
  2. Sarah Norton
  3. Hannah Norton
  4. Mary Ann Norton
  5. Emma Norton
  6. Mary Norton

It is likely that Martha died sometime before 1841, given that she does not appear in the 1841 census with her husband Miles and daughters Mary Ann (listed as “Ann”) and Mary.3 Although several family trees on Ancestry.com declare that she died in Howden in July, 1833, I have so far failed to find documentary evidence of this.
