Hannah Benson, my four times great grandmother, was the wife of William Warner (1789 – ?) of the village of Howden, in Yorkshire, England.
So far, I have failed to find out who her parents were, when she was born, when she married William, or when or where she died. I estimate that she was born about 1790 only because we know that her husband was born in 1789.
What we do know is that Hannah bore William at least three children before the couple decided, in the mid-1820s, to leave Yorkshire and bring their family to settle in Frampton Township, in what is now Quebec.
Here are the children about whom we have at least some information:
- [First name unknown] Warner (whose sons Robert and James emigrated to Salem, Oregon)
- William Warner (my three times great grandfather, 1808 – 1845)
- Hannah Maria Warner (his sister, 1811 – ?)
