University of Toronto Paediatric Residency Program
We’re very proud of our cousin Warner Finstad, who is is in the second year of his post-graduate residency at Sick Kids® Hospital in Toronto. He was recently chosen as one of the recruiting spokespersons for the University of Toronto Paediatric Residency Program.
You can view his pitch on YouTube:
Warner, a 2019 graduate of University College Cork (Coláiste na hOllscoile Corcaigh), is the grandson of Harley Cecil Warner (1928-2018) and a great, great, great, great grandson of this branch of the Warner family’s founding couple, William Warner and Sarah Leitch.
The Warners with a Different Last Name
Warner Finstad is the fourth member of our Warner family to go by “Warner” as a given name. Each of the four was the son or grandson of a Warner woman who got her way when it was time to name the baby.
The three others were:
- Morley Warner Norman (1908-1983), who was the son of Ella Warner (1872-1960) and a great grandson of William Warner and Sarah Leitch. Although “Warner” was his middle name, that’s the one he was always known by.
- Warner William Crudder (1920-1975), who was the son of Maud Warner (1893-1952) and a great, great grandson of William Warner and Sarah Leitch.
- Warner Aird Norman (1942–2008), who was the son of Ainsley Quinn Courage Norman Sr., a grandson of Ella Warner, and a great great grandson of William Warner and Sarah Leitch.
Update (September 2022)
Warner has now entered the fourth year of his residency.
