1893–1952

Sixth Generation: Maud E Warner < William James Warner < James Warner < William Warner< William Warner < William Warner

My 1st cousin twice removed

Maud E. Warner was the daughter of William James Warner and Anna Elizabeth Otto, their only child together.* She was born in Detroit on June 14, 1893.

Maud married Henry Albert “Harry” Crudder in Detroit on August 12, 1911. She was 18 and he was 21.

They had five children:

  1. Henry Albert Crudder Jr
  2. John Warner Crudder (died in infancy)
  3. Anthony Crudder** (died in infancy)
  4. Warner William Crudder
  5. Patricia Ann Crudder

Harry Crudder died in 1935, leaving Maud a widow at 41. Three years later, on October 1, 1938, she married William Conley Martin in Angola, Indiana.

Maud died in Detroit on August 29, 1952, at the age of 59.

Notes

* Several online Ancestry family trees say that Maud’s middle name was Ethel (sometimes spelled “Eythel”). This is probably true, but I have yet to find it on any written record. Many records spell her first name as “Maude” but it is spelled “Maud” in her birth record.1

** It is probable that Anthony was Maud and Harry’s son, but proof has not been found. There is a possibility that he may be a nephew. Please see Anthony’s entry for a more complete explanation.
