Jessie Margaret Chase was the daughter of Abraham James Chase (1860–1922) and his wife Ida May Gibson (1880–1965). she was born in Gardenville, Ontario (in Prince Edward County) on August 16, 1906.

Jessie died on September 15, 2002. She was buried with her husband at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Toronto.
