Husband of my 2nd great grandaunt (great great great aunt)
Thomas Robert Williams was the son of William Williams and his wife Martha. He was born in England, or possibly Wales, about 1820.*
He married Hannah Maria Warner in Toronto on July 1, 1860. For more information, please refer to her page.
Thomas died in Toronto on January 28, 1891, at the age of 71. He was buried at the Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Toronto.
Notes
* The inscription on Thomas’s gravestone says he was born in 1820. The record of his marriage to Hannah, and the census records for 1861, 1871, and 1881 say that he was born in England. HIs marriage record says that his parents were William and Martha Williams.
I have found no birth record for a Thomas Williams, born in England in or about 1820, who was the son of a William and a Martha. I have found, however, a record for one born in Swansea, Wales on November 15, 1820. This may or not be the right Thomas.
