Robert James Tagg was the son of Harold Wayne Tagg and his wife Nancy Irwin Morrison. He was born in Astoria, Oregon on September 20, 1924.

He married Dorothy Kessock in East Orange, New Jersey in May 1961. They had two children:

  2. RGT (living)

Robert died in Clatsop, Oregon on June 10, 1995. He was buried at the Ocean View Cemetery in Warrenton, Oregon.
