Seventh Generation: Helen Elizabeth Warner < Harold Harber Warner < Harold Rix Warner < James Warner < William Warner  < William Warner < William Warner

My aunt

Betty was the daughter of Harold Harber “Harley” Warner and Helen Fredrica Price. She was born in Toronto on August 31, 1924.

She was named after her mother, (who didn’t like the name “Fredrica” and told people all her life that her middle name was “Elizabeth”), and her maternal grandmother, Helen Elizabeth “Lizzie” Price.

She married Ewart Sheldon Usher at Kew Beach United Church in Toronto on September 26, 1945. She was 21. He was 25. They had one child:

  1. DRU (living)

Betty and Ewart were divorced in 1954 and Betty then married Robert Cameron “Bob” McTavish. They had one child:

  1. KFM (living)

Betty died tragically young, at the age of 54, in Oakville, Ontario on May 4, 1979. She was buried in St. Jude’s Cemetery in Oakville, where she now rests beside her husband Bob.

This clipping was done by a family member at the time. The newspaper is unknown.

You can visit her grave (virtually) here.
